In Akishi, there is no paper, no ink, and no written language—only a living “library” carried by the city’s Keeper, trained to hold generations of knowledge in memory.

Left as a temporary bridge between Keepers, a Librarian remains far longer than planned as vicious Hasha storms swallow nomadic tribes and flood the city with refugees afraid their traditions, and lives, will be lost.

When a newly arrived tribe reveals their medicine woman and Keeper have been separated by the sands, a perilous journey into the dunes becomes the only chance to recover what cannot be replaced.
